About Us
2000: Started selling on eBay under the name "lowcostmetals" and at on the website of lowcostmetals.com. This was run out of the basement of the founder's (Steve Pierce) house selling drops of materials.
2003: Constructed a 1500 square foot building as the business grew and to accomodate a growing inventory.
2005: Name of Company was changed to "Online Metal Supply" and changed website to onlinemetalsupply.com. Also doubled the size of warehouse by adding another 1500 square foot to the building.
2011: Constructed a new 7200 square foot building on a property they purchased across the highway from his residence.
2019: Online Metal Supply moved again into a 30,000 square foot building in the City of Houston, Missouri Industrial Park where the business is currently located.
Online Metal Supply's business model differs from most metal retailers as we procure our materials from numerous sources, precut the materials to various sizes and lengths, clean, debur and test each material to ensure quality and size.
This ensures that the material you see for sale on our website is in stock and ready for shipment.
We add hundreds of items daily to the site and only sell the materials that we currently have processed and are ready for shipment.
